baby one more time

happy 2009!

it's strange knowing that i'll be back in evanston soon. i'm pretty scared for winter quarter. it'll be fine, right? mmhmmm~
in 2009, learn to rely on God more. enjoy freshman year. study hard. play hard. don't bite your nails, no matter how nervous you are. be more confident in yourself and God. read more. write more. listen more. pray more. and remember to relax~ and just trust.

it hurts my brain trying to envision what God has in store for me.
but you know, ultimately, all i want to do is glorify You and make You happy.
because i know making you happy makes me happy.
and that in itself makes my life worthwhile.
so use me. lead me. i'm here.

i will never forget 2008. veneta. 25th anniversary. peer counseling. db forum. graduation. debating which college to go to. korea. best year of spanish club (holllah). hiking on saturday mornings. polaroids/photoshoots. 18th birthday. 2nd year as e.i.c. with dardar. ditching 4th period. chicago with family (last day). and winter break.

winter break was much-needed and exceeded my expectations.
yesterday, cathy and i randomly decided to go to knott's. just us two. people said we're lesbian. as always, dbj. don't. be. jealous. ;p

i realized few things at knott's:
1. i'm getting old.
- i used to love riding rollercoasters. i still do, but it's harder now. yesterday, i felt this nervous throw-up feeling on every ride. and... and... cried unexpectedly on supreme scream. i think i embarrassed cathy. shorry. tho tho thorry.
2. attitude matters.
- ahhh i forgot his name. it was either tony, zoey, zach, john, or andy. i remember it was four letters on his nametag. probably in his late 20s/early 30s. but i was amazed at how sincere he was. other people who work on roller coasters don't seem happy, but he sure was. so genuine. and really making the most of his job. i like that.

let's make the most of 2009! here we go baby, one more time!
