our dinner conversation yesterday centered mainly around fish.
i have no clue why.
maybe because we were eating at the guppy house.
but somehow ernest was talking about this weird, sausage-looking fish he saw in korea.
and edward continued, saying that the uglier the fish, the tastier.
then ernest started to imitate this really ugly fish. he couldn't remember the name!
so out of frustration and showing that he understood what ernest was referring to, edward started imitating the ugly fish too. hands and all.
i wasn't embarrassed. i promise.
and dustin started saying he thinks he knows the fish they're talking about, saying the fish looks like a giant rock. like this! *and he started petting his arm as if it were a rock or something...
the waitress kept walking by our table to the next table. but i realized...no one was even at the next table.
long story short, we finally found the fish.
on his iphone, ernest typed many search words like: big ugly fish, two long fins ugly fish, really ugly fish mouth, big face fish, etc. we eventually found it on the monterrey bay aquarium website and celebrated. (my brother remembered seeing the fish at the same aquarium.) and we finally figured out its name:
OCEAN SUNFISH
what a pretty name! for such a...unique fish!
it's a little ugly at first sight,
but i think it's CUTE!
so now, i want to see one!
let's go one day!
